So far, I've lived in 3 different towns in Honduras for a combined 3.5 months, completed 11 weeks of training that included 180 hours of instruction in Spanish, 148 hours of general information on the history/politics/economics/safety situation of Honduras, and 136 hours of technical project training, and made a good amount of friends along the way... Apparently it took all of that to inspire me to finally get this blog going.
Thankfully, I've kept a running document over the past few months of anecdotes, stories, incidents, and the like so as to remember some of the finer points of training. These I will attempt to share with you all, hopefully get caught up to real time over the next couple of weeks, and then I'll continue updating randomly as this journey unfolds.
I aim to use this blog as a way of staying in touch with family and friends back home, fellow volunteers here in Honduras, as a source of (hopefully useful) information for Peace Corps prospects, and as an outlet for myself. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings, your comments and emails are gladly welcomed!
